National Testing Agency (NTA)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous organization established by the Government of India to conduct entrance examinations in a transparent, efficient, and standardized manner. NTA is responsible for organizing major national-level exams such as JEE Main, NEET (UG), CUET, and others. Its objective is to ensure fairness, accuracy, and quality in the assessment process while reducing the burden on students through a technology-driven examination system.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Admit Card for the NEET (UG) 2026 Re-Examination scheduled to be held on 21 June 2026. All eligible candidates must download their fresh admit cards from the official NEET portal before appearing for the examination. The newly issued admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination centre, and candidates should carefully verify all personal and examination details printed on it. It is advisable to keep multiple printed copies for safety and future reference.

The National Testing Agency has released the important dates for NEET UG 2026. The online application process begins in February 2026 and closes in March 2026. The correction window opens in March 2026. Admit cards will be available in April 2026. The NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted on 03 May 2026.

NEET UG 2026 age criteria is defined by the National Testing Agency. Candidates must complete 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026. There is no upper age limit as per current rules. Age relaxation is applicable only as per government norms and official notification guidelines.

As per the National Testing Agency notification, candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2)
or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects
from a recognized board. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks in PCB subjects as per category eligibility criteria.

The selection process of NEET UG 2026 is based on a written entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. Candidates are shortlisted based on marks, All India Rank, and category rank. Qualified candidates participate in centralized counseling for MBBS, BDS, and medical courses through AIQ and state quota seats.

NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency in offline (pen and paper) mode. The paper includes 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions from Physics (45), Chemistry (45), and Biology (90). Total marks are 720. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

The National Testing Agency will conduct NEET UG 2026 in multiple languages to help students across India. The question paper will be available in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates must select their preferred language while filling the online application form.
