National Testing Agency (NTA)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous organization established by the Government of India to conduct entrance examinations in a transparent, efficient, and standardized manner. NTA is responsible for organizing major national-level exams such as JEE Main, NEET (UG), CUET, and others. Its objective is to ensure fairness, accuracy, and quality in the assessment process while reducing the burden on students through a technology-driven examination system.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 is a national-level medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and other allied medical programs. The official notification was released on 08 February 2026, and the exam will be conducted on 03 May 2026 (Sunday) in offline (pen and paper) mode. Candidates must apply online through the official website and qualify NEET to secure admission in government and private medical colleges across India.

The National Testing Agency has released the important dates for NEET UG 2026. The online application process begins in February 2026 and closes in March 2026. The correction window opens in March 2026. Admit cards will be available in April 2026. The NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted on 03 May 2026.

The National Testing Agency has prescribed the NEET UG 2026 application fee based on candidate category. General category candidates must pay ₹1700, General-EWS/OBC-NCL ₹1600, and SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender ₹1000. The fee must be paid online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Fees are non-refundable after submission.

As per the National Testing Agency notification, candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2)
or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects
from a recognized board. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks in PCB subjects as per category eligibility criteria.

NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency in offline (pen and paper) mode. The paper includes 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions from Physics (45), Chemistry (45), and Biology (90). Total marks are 720. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

The National Testing Agency will conduct NEET UG 2026 in multiple languages to help students across India. The question paper will be available in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
